This is my personal blog where all 'Jena Irene' news and updates will be posted! 😆

Excuse me, but I'm excited that my debut album “Cold Fame” is gonna be out tomrrow!  June 2nd:)

It’s definitely been a long time coming, I’ve made sure this is so. After a few years of much needed hard work, I’m so proud and ready for this body of work to be released for your ears to dance too.

I’ve learned that this road is full of surprises with inevitable tumbles and turns. I think it depends on how you choose to spend it and who you’re spending it with (i’m talking about life), but I’ll forever be trying to be figuring that one out too.

The album holds the simple concept of girl transforming into herself as a woman. Growing up and putting yourself out there in the music industry in this day and age is completely different to how things were ran only 15-20 years ago. The only way to do it is to go balls-to-the-wall and be nothing but myself. I give you these songs not as a reach for understanding, but to relate to in your own way. Perspective is everything, and underneath we’re all the same :)

Writing it definitely forced a “come to Jesus” talk with myself. I had to get the honesty and rawness of the story across perfectly and there were only 3 others possible to make that happen.

These babes are Kevin Nixon, Antea Shelton and Elise McCoy.

The funniest and most supportive band that helped me record this album involved Craig Shephard, Brandon "Showtime" Bland and RainMan Entertainment. The amount of intuition and insight that these fellas have on music in general is something out of this world, and I’m so thankful to learn from them.

We had a fun 7ish months recording it in the most welcoming studio ever! Thank you, Studio A of Dearborn, for the hospitality and opportunity to work with the amazing staff.

The 14 track compilation was produced by one of my crazy talented managers and friend, Kevin Nixon.

It takes a team and I couldn’t have handpicked a better group of people- #WeAreOriginal1265

I won’t share too much more, but there turned out to be a very hopeful ending for me. No matter what happens in this crazy life or world, I get to do what I love - Make music, smoke weed, and let the adventure do the navigating.

Who knows what the future holds for album #2…..

Love to all - JIA

Floating Down The River

Boy has it been a crazy few months-So much has happened I don’t even know where to begin!

I’ve learned a lot-more importantly have learned a lot about myself.

I have the tendency to be a hermit crab when I feel uncomfortable with the way I feel about myself, or thinking too much about how others view me-and I began to make a significant change.

There is no mother fucking way you can please everyone-and I myself have tried to take on that challenge (especially a few years ago wink wink). People pleasing is exhausting and overrated, because at the end of the day-everyone feels okay except the people pleaser.

Focusing on myself is one of the hardest and rewarding things I’ve felt. This transformation is finally clicking with loyal and new listeners as I continue to meet and figure out my demographic the more my message is vocalized.

My new single, Floating Down The River comes out TODAY!!!!

I’m so pleased this is the first single to introduce what kind of content and direction i’m taking for the album. The inspiration for this song is so generalized, touching on nearly all points of my message within the lyrics.

Passionate shit that keeps running through my mind whether I want it to or not- a judgement-free world will never coalesce, haters always gon’ hate.

The only thing that’s made it so enjoyable for me to make this record is that it was the gateway to let myself be myself.

And to let myself be honest with my audience, but more importantly the people I’m close with.

Floating Down The River is about as honest as it gets. I love the city I grew up in and all the people that made it special, but outgrowing things is NOT a step back- it’s a step forward. Detroit has welcomed me with open arms in the last 2 years specifically and I’m so grateful for the friends, mentors, and inspirational figures that walk the streets. I owe my edginess to Detroit and all the people who’ve encouraged the brutal honesty of this record (and Floating Down The River in particular) instead of suppressing it- you guys are a constant reminder to be myself everyday and to not apologize for it.

AND I CAN’T WAIT TO MOVE!! (This is happening sometime this year-I love you mom, but it’s time make the independence official).

Floating Down The River is just the beginning…. ;)

Innocence EP and Billboard Chart Entry!

Hey Everyone,

Been too long since the last blog, but SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED since the last time we caught up! For starters, my EP “Innocence” is available to buy/stream/download on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon etc.!!!! I know some of you have been waiting almost a year and a half for me to release music, and I just want to say thank YOU for sticking around! For those of you who are new listeners, welcome to my website! I already love you lol.

I view this EP as a warm up to the full length record, Cold Fame, that will come out later this year.

This EP has 5 tracks on it, the order is……..

You Gotta Help Me

Each of these tracks are pretty diverse in terms of songwriting, but the over all sonic sound of this EP is a good representation of what the record (Cold Fame) sounds like. I hope everyone who decides to download and listen to this will get an understanding of who I am as a songwriter. I am not just a voice. I have things to say that may not be considered “roll model material”, but in today's society, I will ALWAYS be honest in every piece of work that I put out.

Although I wrote these songs about my experiences (in my short life), I’ve learned so much about this industry, business, songwriting, but mostly about myself. I now feel fully confident to give this music to you as I know who I am as an artist. I also can’t wait to share my stories and make connections with those of you who love adventure as much as I do.

Since the release of this EP, there’s been some great support from all my fans, old and new, and I can’t thank you enough forgetting my EP to chart on the Billboard Heatseekers! The EP started off at #6 in the North East Central region, and #18 on over all Heatseekers album chart...still on such a high since I found out 😍

Hard copies of the EP are available on my website store, I know a few of you have been asking for them on Twitter. DON’T WORRY I GOTCHU!!  BUY A COPY HERE:

If you haven't seen the new video for the single "Innocence", Check it out as it was a fun one to film ;)

There's also another upcoming video for YOU GOTTA HELP ME! Currently in the editing stage, but so excited for you to see it 😎  We shot it in the LA desert on this abandoned highway...the footage is looking bad ass!"

Anyways, I love you all and glad you have something to reference in terms of MY music ;)

Jena Irene Asciutto Set to Release Debut "Innocence" 5 track EP April 22nd

Album Pre-order is Up Today

Detroit's Jena Irene Asciutto is set to release Innocence, her debut five track EP, on April 22nd via Original 1265 Recordings (see below for full track listing). The EP will be available for pre-order on March 4th, and fans will instantly receive Unbreakableupon purchase. Serving as Jenas personal anthem, Unbreakablespeaks to not only Jenas own spirit of resilience, but also that of her hometown, Detroit, where she has decided to establish her career.

The tracks on Innocence were written and recorded after a teenage Jena spent six months living in Hollywood as a contestant on American Idol, ultimately placing as the runner-up in the 2014 season. “I turned to songwriting to help me process the incredible, whirlwind experience I had been on,” Jena reveals. “The songs on Innocence are deeply personal, telling the story of me growing up and finding my way as both a woman and a singer/songwriter.”

Jena was in the studio throughout 2015 writing and recording her debut album Cold Fame, which will be released later this year.

Feb 11th, PJ lager House, Detroit ....

Hello everyone!

I feel like I always start off these blogs by saying “I’ve been super busy’, or “It’s been a while since my last post” or some other shit but it’s all true! These past few weeks have been a whirlwind of work and excitement, but I feel like everything is falling into place. I’m finally starting to play more local shows that are open to the public and not as many private events, because that’s no fun for the people who actually want to come and rage with me!

Speaking of local shows, I have one booked at a venue called PJ Lager House in Detroit, on February 11th (I’ll post the address below). This show is a little over a week away, so if any of you are looking for something to do, COME LISTEN TO MY NEW MUSIC!! Even if you’ve been to a recent show, there will be new songs I decided to put on the album last minute, with a new band so it should be a partayyyy! It’s been fucking rad playing the new stuff for all kinds of audiences…. and some of the reactions are priceless loll.

I love all of you and would love to see you singing along at PJ’s :)

Just think, the next blog I post will have the release date for the Innocence EP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk to you soon :)
